Day 209 – Waggon Wheels

These waggon wheels are a bit tough!

After lots of meetings today, Caz took me and Leo on a little tupperware hunt in Tollesbury this evening, before we met up with some friends for a photowalk. We had to go through a farmyard, and we found these waggon wheels sitting by a fence. I thought waggon wheels were some sort of yummy choccy bikkie type thing? I think there’s something wrong with these – they are pretty tough!

Day 206 – Beat The Drum

These drumsticks are heavy!

These drumsticks are heavy!

Today we went with Caz to see lots of people pretending to be other people at a big battle re-enactment. This drum belongs to a friend who is from the English Civil War. It must mean that she is really old. Leo and me had fun playing the drum even though the sticks are very heavy.

Day 202 – Where’s Froggy?

I found a quiet spot to sit

I went out with Caz again today as she had a meeting at lunchtime in a local College. They have very nice gardens there, so I spent the time wandering around looking at the plants and things. I found this lovely pond and thought I would sit on a lilypad and wait for Froggy to turn up for a chat, but I think he was probably busy elsewhere doing froggy business. Never mind, it was a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the scenery.

Day 200 – The Poppy Crop

What a pretty colour

What a pretty colour

Caz was very busy at work today, so I was very good and kept out of her way during the day. In the evening, when it was nice and cool, she took me on a little walk in the fields nearby.

We saw lots of wheat which is looking ready for harvest – I’m looking forward to eating more Weetabix soon! We also saw these pretty poppies which seem to grow at the edge of the fields, so I thought I would have my picture taken with the flowers.

Day 199 – Barbie Time

Time to chill in the garden

Time to chill in the garden

It was very hot again today, so Leo and me decided to chill at home. We have had some very busy weekends recently, and although we had a great time, it is also nice to spend some time just relaxing.

We sat in the garden and cooked some lovely bangers and eggs on the barbeque – at least, I hope Leo is keeping an eye on them from behind his silly sunglasses – there’s nothing worse than burnt saussies!

Day 198 – Big Red Fire Engine

It's very shiny

It is very shiny

Today we had fun at the local village fête – there were stalls with candyfloss, ice cream and arty-crafty things for sale. And we saw a dog display team from Wales and a big marching band who palyed lots of nice tunes as they walked up and down. But my favourite was the big red fire engine which was on display and you could go and play with it.

At first, I was a bit nervous as I thought the firemen would want to put out my fire, but I had a chat with them and they were very friendly. They realised that I was another professional who deals with fire every day, and thought I was more than capable of keeping it under control. Here you can see me sitting on the front bumper of their enormous tender.

Day 196 – Antique Arthur

Sitting with my new friend

Sitting with my new friend

What a tiring day we have had! Caz went to Hatfield House to take some family heirlooms to the Antiques Roadshow which was being held there. What she didn’t realise was how long she would have to queue up to be seen! Her poor feet were very achy after five ours of standing up! Then she had a horrid drive home in all the rush-hour motorway traffic.

Luckily for a small dragon, I was able to ride along in the bag, and I had a new friend to keep me company. This is Aurthur the bear. Caz took a shine to him as he was looking for a new home. I’m sure he will get along very well with Leo, he’s a very cultured sort of bear and knows lots about Antiques.
