Without a creek?
Today we went with Caz to stay for the weekend in a big house in the country with some of her friends. We went for an explore while the others were sitting outside on the patio nattering, and found these big oars on the wall. Actually, they are called blades and you get them if you are in a rowing crew in an important race.
Me and Leo wanted to get a closer look to read the writing, so we hopped up and inched along to the end. It said that the rower had been in the winning Cambridge University boat called Goldie, which had beaten Oxford’s Isis boat by 6 lengths. Apparently that was in the 1977 reserve crew boat race. What a cool thing to commemorate their victory!
